one year's time

one year ago from this past saturday i made a promise to spend the rest of eternity with my very best friend.
i remember every detail of the way that ben proposed to me and i wouldn't change a thing about it.
august 20, 2011...
second best day of my life.

nature at its finest

as mentioned earlier, we went to mesa falls with my parents while they were here.
clare and kevin loved it!
it's so so pretty up there.
idaho truly does offer some of the most beautiful spots that often get overlooked.

ps.
it's wednesday.
which means i get to see benny tomorrow.
cue the hallelujah chorus.
i CANNOT WAIT.

and then i graduated

this is the first of a slew of update posts that are sitting {unchecked} on my to-do list.
let's start for the beginning.
___

about a month ago i finally "graduated".
i say "graduated" because technically i don't actually get my diploma for about three months.
but until i have the hard evidence you'll just have to take my word for it, okay?
graduation was a blast!
my parents were able to come up and spend the weekend with ben and i and ben's side of the family.
they joined us for my graduation festivities, we had a BBQ with the webb's, played lots of volleyball, and were able to take them up to mesa falls.
it's still weird that i am actually graduated.
i got my bachelors degree in sociology and don't regret it for a second.
i loved everything about my major and will seriously miss my little home in the ricks building.
here are a few pictures.

it was a real good weekend.

a quick hello

my goodness the past few weeks have been cra-zay.
the parents visit.
i graduate.
fresno for a while.
san francisco.
we move.
job hunting.
start internship.
house organizing/decorating.

it's been crazy but oh so fun.
minus the part where i didn't see my husband for 12 days.
yeah. that will never be happening again.
no one should ever have to experience that.

i wish i was uploading pictures.
but truly i have no idea where to start and i don't even have my camera with me right now.
so that will have to wait until i can mentally prepare myself for the process.

anyways, i'm currently down in utah teaching swimming lessons to young little kiddos.
i love it.
the kids are hysterical and adorable. which keeps me entertained.
however i cannot wait to go home to my husband tomorrow night and then leave for island park this weekend for a little webb family reunion.
we're REAL excited.

welp.
now that this has been the most random and semi-pointless blog entry, i will leave on this note....
i was watching a really interesting news segment earlier.
it was about our nations current economic status, our nations credit and the spirit of entitlement that is sweeping our country.
anyways, in no way am i trying to make some political statement.
i haven't even really decided how i feel about mitt romney.
but i do feel that pertaining to this issue, he couldn't have said it better.
so i thought i would share.
that is all.

watch the clip here.

hopefully i will find time to do a major picture catch up soon.
but until then...
happy wednesday!

ps.
just stumbled upon this quote.
a great reminder.

oh happy day

LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!
i have surprisingly had an extremely productive day today.
a rarity for this girl.
i completed half of my to-do list...
just in time for ben and i to watch a little sytycd before he heads to basketball and i begin the second half of my list.
picked up cap and gown? check.
completed a bazillion flash cards for the next 7 days? check.
corrected my mailing address so my diploma doesn't get mailed to a stanger? big check.

is it weird that i almost got a little emotional while picking up tickets for graduation?
i'm really going to miss my time at byu-idaho.
i have fallen in love with this city, this campus, and all of the amazing teachers that i have had.
this is the place where i met my best friends.
this is the place that allowed me to fall in love with my husband.
it's the place where i learned the hard way the ins and outs of driving in the snow.
where i gained my independence and learned how to live outside the comfort of the home i grew up in.
it's a place where my testimony was able to grow on a daily basis.
where i was able to attend class daily and soak up knowledge constantly. and where i was able to discover a area of study that i fell in love with.
it's where i discovered horkley's and rigby lake.
i miss california on a daily basis but i truly do love idaho.
and while we are not moving far, a piece of my heart will always be in rexburg, idaho.
ok that last part was a bit cheesy. but i don't care.

9 days till i'm a college grad.
bitter-sweet.
but ben and i are oh so excited for clare bear and kevin to arrive.
we have the whole weekend mapped out.
it's gonna be a party!

happy wednesday!

please forgive..

..because this may be a bit of an over-share.
but man am i grateful for this guy.

perhaps i am experience some of this love gust business.
but i truly have no idea where i would be without ben.
he is the most kind, generous, thoughtful, and christ-like person i know.
and i can't even begin to imagine my life with anyone else.
he is constantly bringing out the best in me and making me want to be a better person.
he know when to make me laugh, he knows when i need a hug and a good cuddle sesh and he is quite possibly the best listener on the planet.
and THAT LAUGH.
i'm working on homework while listening to him watch americas funniest home videos.
when he really laughs it turns into a giggle (which he will probably hate for me to announce because it sounds "unmanly") but it's probably the cutest thing i have ever heard in my life. it kills me.

plus he's all mine. forever.

the fourth recap

ben and i enjoyed a wonderful fourth of july weekend!
my second favorite holiday did not fail me.
we enjoyed three, count them THREE, rounds of fireworks, the best tri-tip dinner this girl has ever tasted, swimming, a little slip n' slide action, quality time with ally girl, shopping, and lots&lots of sun.
plus i got my ben all to myself on monday.
so happy he didn't have to work.
all in favor of three-day-weekends every weekend?
thought so.
now for the pictures...

 {ben in all his glory}
{poor gavin was not having the water}

needless to say, it was a perfect weekend.
but now that the holiday is over, it's time to get my buns graduated.
two.more.weeks.
holy cow.
i am so excited.

because ben and i will both be college graduates, we have found ourselves a new place of residence for the next couple of years.
i cringe at the though of having to move a third time in the span of 6 months.
but it will definitely be worth it.
so, while my mind should be filled with all things school related, we have been busy devising up plans for our new little home.
picking paint colors, cabinets and countertops can be a little overwhelming.
but we are anxious to start this new chapter of our lives.
these pictures have all made their way onto different inspiration boards for the new place.

i hope everyone had a wonderful and safe fourth of july holiday!
happy tuesday!
