in my dreams

i have recently acquired a new addiction.
all i do is daydream about our future apartment.
i've probably spent hours searching the web looking for pretty apartment pictures.

if i had a million dollars i am fairly certain i would choose to decorate our apartment something like this.

{how could you ever be anything but happy in a place like this}

or this...

i don't know that i would necessarily have much use for an audrey hepburn dining room, or a pretty pale blue office. at least right now.

but i still want them.

and since we don't have the resources to make our apartment look quite like this, i'm about to get real crafty.

i just have so many ideas that i can't do anything about for two and a half weeks.

that's right two and a half weeks until we're married.

CAN'T WAIT!

fresno bridal shower

rebecca galli, jenny parker and brittany youngclaus put together the most amazing bridal shower for me this past weekend.
i am so grateful to have these wonderful and thoughtful ladies in my life.
the shower was great. great food, great friends, great everything.
i love love loved every minute of it.
AND since apparently every single one of us spaced taking ANY pictures (sad) i only have one, but quite possibly the best one.

mackenna has literally been one of my best friends since seventh grade. we're talking inseparable.
i mean i can remember our days at kastner when we would dream about our future weddings.
i'm fairly certain one of us wanted an underwater wedding. seriously? we were weird.
she works and lives in LA and we haven't seen each other in probably two years.
anyways, she came up for my bridal shower and i had no idea her and her mom (pictured above) were coming.
best.surprise.ever.
it was SO great to have her there with me and to catch up.
thank you nancy and mackenna for making the trip up to fresno. love you both.

happy sunday

"This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help.
We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues.
A favorite hymn always lifts our spirits, kindles our faith, and inspires our thoughts:
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings; name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done. …

So amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged; God is over all.
Count your many blessings; angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end."

i'll procrastinate later

i have been buried in books for hours and can't do it any longer.
school this week is going to own me..
oh well.

can i just say that come december i will have 11 of the cutest kiddos on the planet for nieces and nephews.
they literally keep me entertained 24/7 and are hysterical.

i can't even take how adorable they are.

also, as evidenced in the below picture, lets hope that our future children look like their father.
otherwise, they stand no chance.

happy sunday.

"God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future--to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities.

God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe."
-JEFFREY R. HOLLAND

"Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don't come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come."

home sweet home

i miss these two.

i cant wait for thanksgiving break when i can follow my mom around all day while she runs errands and go to the gym with my dad.
is this weird? perhaps.
but it's the little things about being at home that you miss when your at school.

p.s. CHRISTMAS IS OFFICIALLY HERE.
i know this because i saw a darth vader holiday nutcracker at walgreens...
directly across from the holiday themed snuggies.
awesome. talk about a hole in one.

p.p.s. just thought about this and it made me laugh...
"there are three types of people in this world i don't trust; people with shifty eyes, gingers, and canadians."
or something to that effect.
except for you brooklyn (if you're reading this).

i am quite possibly marrying the funniest person on this planet.

and LASTLY, ben received the newel k. whitney award today for the financial economics department! which basically means he is a smarty pants.
